1.Core Network Infrastructure
• Construction of 100km fibre cable from Maseru to M/Hoek over LEC power lines
• Construction of 4 Base Transceiver Station [BTS] and service centers
• Improvement of network speed from 4Mbps to 10Mbps
• Acquisition of Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) on Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) fibre
• Direct access to international bandwidth, eassy cable, through Virtual Landing Point (VLP)

2.Data Centers
•Upgrade 2 Data Centers (DCs) to be secure and be of International Standard
•Upgrade Hardware at Mohale’s Hoek production center to latest versions

 

 

 

 

3.Government e-Portal
•Improve Government e-Portal to have at least 8 (2 transactional & 6 interactive services) online services:
•interactive services
i. Civil Registration, Passport & Visa Application
ii. Business Registration & Investment Opportunities
iii. Driver’s license/Vehicle Registration
iv. Education-scholarships/research/examination results
v. e-Procurement
vi. Health related information (e-Health)
•  transactional services
i. Tax Filing
ii. Land Registration/property tax filing
• Expect 5000 hits per week
• Upgrade and integrate line Ministries’ websites to the government e-portal

•18 awareness campaigns to be held
•Lerotholi Polytechnic Computer Laboratory renovated & equipped
•Training facility & video conference established
•20 courses to be held
•Training in ICT conducted
